Complex & Individualised Supports commences

Friday, September 22, 2017 - 10:27am

Nexus has formed a new division to provide service for the growing number of clients who present with complex support needs.  Unfortunately there is a national trend for organisations to move away for this group due to uncertainty with NDIS funding, but as a rights based organisation Nexus believes that it is important that all people with a disability can access services that are of a high quality, are timely and have the skills to meet their needs.  Nexus already had a group of clients who require a level of individualized supports because of their level of complexity ad also their ability to engage in a meaningful way about their own life decisions.  Our independent living program (NILP), a number of 1:1 residential youth clients and a group of other clients living in the community have now joined together to form the Nexus Complex & Individualsied Support program (sorry, it actually NCIS – by accident).  The team now has 2 Level 4 Team leaders and we are about to recruit a manager for the service.
