Supporting clients to meet their goals and live the life they choose is key at Nexus and is what we celebrate in each of our quarterly newsletters.
In the spring of 2023, we celebrated a milestone 25 years of supporting Tasmanians living with disability. Opening in 1998 after the merger of two service providers, we have grown from just nine supported living houses, to over thirty houses and more than 300 clients across the state.
At our 25th birthday celebartion, we also recognised the dedication and contribution of all Nexus staff, particularly those having milestone years in 2023.
Spring was a busy season for our staff as they attended the Speak Out Disability expos in Hobart and, for the first time, in Devonport.
Our team also participated in the Glenorchy Youth Forum where representatives from our Supported Living team and People and Practice team spoke to the group about the variety of opportunities available across the disability support sector.
In the season of renewal, growth, and new beginnings, our clients were supported to visit Hobart Show Day, improve their independent living skills, celebrate birthdays and support them for bowling day out!
