We love seeing Nexus be a stepping stone for young people looking to start their career in support work.
In 2025, we welcomed over 25 students for work placements—each with a unique story of discovering purpose and passion in the disability sector!
Late last year, Logan, a Year 12 student from Devonport High School, completed a 10-day placement with Nexus spread over 10 weeks.
Logan was eager to learn what a typical day as a Support Worker looks like and whether it was the right fit for her future.
Our North West team created a tailored roster that gave Logan the chance to quickly gain hands-on experience.
“I really want to help people in need. I wanted to do a placement in a disability organisation to make a direct impact on people’s lives and contribute to a more inclusive community,” Logan said.
“It was a truly amazing experience for her, and I wish we could have 100 more students like Logan come to Nexus!” Kylie said.
Fast forward to the end of her placement and Logan has found both her purpose and a new role at Nexus – welcome to the team, Logan
