About the Role

Our ongoing expansion across the state has created a new role for a Practice Leader to support the Nexus operations management team with monitoring, reviewing and reporting on practice matters.

Your Role as Practice Leader

As our Practice Leader your responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluating support plans for clients, including Meal Management Plans, Behaviour Support Plans, Manual Handling Plans and Complex Healthcare plans to ensure they are compliant and easy for staff to understand.
  • Identifying and coordinating the monitoring of Approved Restrictive Interventions for Nexus clients to support Nexus’ reporting obligations.
  • Providing support and coaching to Nexus Inc employees in-person and online on matters of practice.
  • Gaining information from external stakeholders and providing feedback on practice matters for Nexus clients and staff.
  • Working closely with the Operations Management team to coordinate the implementation of support plans and training for staff.
  • Maintaining the accuracy of the Nexus Inc training matrix spreadsheet in relation to complex and high intensity supports.
  • Other duties as directed that are within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this classification level.

  1. Knowledge and expertise: High level experience in service delivery to people with disability (or ability to acquire knowledge and qualification), with proven experience in working with complex support needs and third-party support plans.
  2. Achieves results:  Demonstrated ability to successfully develop and implement strategies to effect change for clients, while engaging with external and internal stakeholders.
  3. Supports productive working relationships: High-level interpersonal and middle management leadership skills with a proven ability to build and sustain positive relationships, resolve conflict, empower others to achieve outcomes, and harness the benefits of a diverse range of views.
  4. Displays personal drive and integrity: Demonstrated capacity to work effectively, independently and as part of a team. Proven ability to work under pressure, provide impartial and forthright advice and maintain perseverance and positivity in difficult situations.
  5. Communicates with influence: High level oral and written communication skills, ability to articulate effective communication strategies, confidence in the presentation of ideas, demonstrated consultative and negotiation skills, and the ability to anticipate stakeholder positions to collaborate accordingly.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Extensive and broad experience in the disability services sector or a similar service delivery environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Restrictive Practice implementation, monitoring and provider reporting obligations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of complex service delivery methods, including healthcare and behaviour support plans.
  • Diploma of Disability or another relevant field is highly desirable.

 

Working in the disability sector means you will also need (or be able to obtain) the following:

  • Current National Police Check (no more than 6 months old)
  • Current Working with Vulnerable People Card (with NDIS endorsement)
  • Unrestricted Tasmanian Driver’s license
